I, PAU KWOK CHTU alias Pau Ping Kwan alias Pau Chau of Victoria

in the Colony of Hongkong do solemnly sincerely and truly declare

and say as follows :-

The accounts directed by the Decree herein are very volumi-

nous and extend over about 17 years. They are all in Chinese and

have to be translated.

I am informed and believe that Mr. Bruce Shepherd has had

large experience in going through Chinese accounts and is well

acquainted therewith and I believe that it will facilitate the

matter very much if the said Mr. Bruce Shepherd be appointed

Special Referee to take the enquiries and accounts ordered by the

Decree.

And I solemnly declare that the contents of this my declara-

tion are true.

Declared at the Supreme Court House Victoria in the Colony of Hongkong this 13th day of December 1902 the same having first been duly inter- preted to the said declarant in the Chinese language by Wong Kwok - u Sworn Translator.
